I was super excited to be asked to shoot Sian and Andrew's wedding at the Nash Point Lighthouse on the Vale of Glamorgan Heritage Coast, as it is such a stunning and unique venue! In fact, Nash Point Lighthouse is the only working lighthouse within the entire British Isles, which is a licensed premises for holding weddings and civil partnerships, so I jumped at the opportunity to photograph a wedding here.

I didn't actually get to meet Sian and Andrew until the day before the wedding as they don't live locally. When I went to the cottage they were staying at on the grounds of the lighthouse Sian, Andrew, and their three kids all seemed very chilled about the upcoming wedding. I'm sure I was more stressed than they were as the wind was blowing a gale, which as you can imagine on the coast, wasn't ideal!

The wedding was small with only close family and friends, and had a lovely intimate vibe. I started my day meeting up with Sian and her daughter at Coast Hair Studio in Bridgend whilst they were having their hair and makeup done. Once they were looking stunning, we headed back to the cottage at the lighthouse for them to get dressed. As the guests started to trickle in to the cottage, I took a moment to head to the lighthouse to capture the decorations there, before everyone began to head to the ceremony room.

Despite the lighting being quite difficult (and very yellow!), I snapped away until the ceremony was done, thrilled with the challenge of such a unique venue. Then I took the new Mr and Mrs to the very top of the lighthouse for some photos, before heading back down for some photos in the lantern, before they reunited with their guests for a glass of champagne!
